What We Buy
Scrap Stainless Steel
Old sinks, kitchen benches, tanks and fabrication offcuts. Stainless steel pays far more than ordinary steel, so it's worth keeping separate.
Overview
Not All Stainless Is Equal
Most stainless steel in kitchens, bathrooms and food and dairy equipment is grade 304 or 316. Both contain nickel and chromium, which is why they're worth so much more than ordinary steel.
Cheaper magnetic stainless, found in some appliances, cutlery and exhausts, is graded on its own at a lower price. We sort it with a magnet, so you're paid for what you actually have.
Grades We Buy
304 Stainless
Sinks, benches, splashbacks, kitchen equipment and most offcuts. Non-magnetic.
316 Stainless
Marine fittings, and dairy, chemical and food-processing equipment. Pays more than 304.
Magnetic Stainless
400-series stainless from some appliances, cutlery and exhausts. Paid at a lower rate.
Stainless with Attachments
Tanks and equipment with steel frames, motors or plastic still on. Paid at a lower rate until stripped.
How It Works
Selling scrap at our Hallam yard takes a few minutes.
Bring it in
Bring your scrap to our Hallam yard in the car, ute or trailer. For bigger loads, we can collect.
We sort and weigh it
We sort your metal by grade and weigh each grade on its own, so every kilo is paid at the right price.
Show your ID
Victorian law requires us to record photo ID from everyone who sells us scrap metal.
Get paid
We pay by bank transfer, as scrap metal dealers in Victoria can't pay in cash. Bring your BSB and account number.

What We Buy
If it's stainless, we'll take it, from a single sink to a commercial kitchen fit-out. The magnet test is a good guide: a magnet barely sticks, if at all, to the better grades.
